(Tabebuia aellanedae or impestiginosa)
The bark of one species is used to make the psychedelic drink. It has been used by native and medical herbalists as a cancer treatment; other medicinal uses are parasitic and fungal infections, particularly Candida, and prostatitis. It should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding because of its potential psychedelic and cytotoxic effects.
